Happy First Birthday, Camden Dexter Bond!

Happy Birthday! I can't believe how quickly twelve months passed. What a beautiful, sweet baby. I have enjoyed it beyond words, and every day gets better and better. Opening presents was a LOT of fun, and we have some good photos of the red car coming soon.

  Four First Birthdays!

Now I realize I have been quite dramatic about getting a good picture for Cam's first birthday. And of course we had drama with me staining the high chair and it not drying in time, and all sorts of other junk. Cake, I understand now, is silicone-like.

Here is the photo of all the boys on their first birthdays, with candles. All in the same sweet high chair. Can you see how tiny Tal looks? Riley is about to burn his fingers in his picture there. We ended up having do-over celebrations for Riley & Camden! Each kid is progressively bigger, which gave us a good giggle. The picture-of-a-picture quality here is pretty awful, but as you can see, it was worth the effort. I love it.

Camden's First Steps! And yes, I still have Christmas up.

So Cam was ready to walk a few days ago when Travis was out of town. I mostly kept him off the ground so he wouldn't be tempted until Daddy got home. So here we are with the first official steps. The funny thing is that he grabbed his bottle and it seemed to stabilize him. It made us remember Tal's first steps--he remembered the next morning and was SO shaky, but almost never crawled again. Tal was 14 months, and Riley was a stubborn 15 months. Reagan adorably determined to do it at his birthday party.

Dani, Disney, and Drought is Done

Our friend Danielle from Disney (has it really been 15 years?) came for a visit this week. She brought enough rain to end the drought. We showed her our Rover woes, life with four boys, a cold/wet Florida week (still better than a warm one in Ohio, right?), and our friend Sandy helped us out for a fun day at the Magic Kingdom. More magical with each kid. Hard to see below, but Tal is at the new Pooh play corner in Fantasyland, which is a great spot to let the kids run around and escape the crowds for a bit. A great day!

  Cold Snap

It does get cold in Florida. It went down to 26 degrees the night of these photos. It snowed in January 1977. It is GREAT. We are still lighting the fireplace as often as we can and we're keeping the Christmas decorations up for January. December was just too darn bananas, so we're finally taking a moment to relax and enjoy.

I bought this little peacoat for Tal before he was born, on my last business trip. It was a little shop in Charlotte called Chocolate Soup. What a great name for a store. I didn't care what they were selling, I just had to go there
.

The Mouse Cookie

Travis loves reading to the Rs at night. They read The Mouse Cookie religiously, so I bought them a bunch of variations of it for Christmas. Riley actually slept with "Merry Christmas, Mouse" on Christmas Eve.

My Grandma used to cut off the heads when she took pictures. What is happening to me?
